Groundhog Day

This film kinda does relate to my life. I find that when im mean to people more bad stuff seems to happen and my day dosent go as well. The lesson that i could apply to my life is that life every day to your fullest and be the kinda of person that others can rely on for help and encouragement, the kind of person that other people want to be around.

Blogger-Finding Nemo

Finding Nemo is a movie about a little clown fish who loses his way in the big sea and gets taken by a dentist and his dad goes all over the see and tries to find his son. It's about his journey to find his son and the people he mets along the way and helps him get to Sydney. The movie was directed by Andrew Stanton who also did screen play for the movie.

The cinamatogrpy was written Sharon Calahan she is noted for the lighting in under water when it fades from the light part of the ocean to the dark part and when you see the reef and how bright it is and then the dark light on the barracuda and the vibratant colors used in the coral reef. The seeting consists of the ocean, mostly the color reef and Sydney Australia. the only major problems that they in coutnered in the making was the animation and having to re-do things.

The movie has both diagetic and nondiagetic sound. There is sudden scary music when there is the barracuda and when they get to the dark part of the ocean and when the dad(Marlin) suddenly loses Nemo. Then you have the diagetic sound when you hear the water swushing while they swim and the noise the seaguls.

The First week of the movie was a smash hit. People responded to it very well. Me personally i was a little shakey about it. At first i thought it was just going to be a typical stupid kiddy movie but after i saw it was way more than that. It was so cute and i even cried. It was really touching and cute.

An Actor that stood out the most in the movie was Ellen DeGeneres. She was hilarious! And she diffinatly made the movie. The best part about her was the she had memory lost and she could never remember Nemo's name. Fabio? Elmo? And at the end she finally gets it right and it so cute and joy just rushs towards you. (Sorry Ms. Tholen i just get emotional when i talk about this movie).

So in the end Nemo finds his dad and they basically live happily ever after and they get closer as father-son. Its an amazing movie, and i recomend that everyone see's it.

TIME article

The movie seems kind of overrated personally. I feel like its just of those western movies with a slight twist, but not enough to make it good. I do enjoy western though, like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid which had enough humor and action to keep you interested. Im excited to see if this is the kind of typical western movie or if it has more and attracts people. But i deffinatly think that western genre films still have a place. They are a classic and shouldnt be forgotten, oldies but goodies

Singin' In the Rain

Singin' in the Rain is a film about a the film-making business and this big time star(Gene Kelly) that fall in love with a aspiering actress(Debbie Reynolds). Along with the great and quite witty script is Gene Kelly and Donalds O'Connor and Debbie Reynolds amazing tap dancing skills that are shown in every dance/musical scece. With Gene Kelly and Stanley Donen directing the movie it really gives you a great feeling while watching it.
The main story in Singin' in the Rain is really about moving into talking picture in the show-biz. The main character Don Lockwood(Gene Kelly) always want to be in show-biz, but for the music not the acting. But his great looks and so called "amazing acting" shoot him to the top with famous actress Lina Lamont(Jean Hagen) who has interesting way of talking. As Don climbs to the top he mets Cathy Selden(Debbie Reynolds). He falls in love and has to hid it from Lina who thinks they are just two peas in a pod. As their studio progesses making their first talking picture there are ups and downs, many downs, that come their way.
The diolouge in the movie is the same way people would have talked back then in the 50's. They have theses witty little slide in's now and then, it helps keep the film moving along. But on thing that always happens is when something good is going along it always gets just a little bit messed up, someway, somehow.
Probally the best part of the whole movie would be the acting, you feel as if your just watching these peoples life. Just think when you could get any better with the acting Kelly, O'Connor and Reynolds start singing and tap dancing and how in sych and amazing their are just puts the movie over the top. The films also has amazing costumes. There is actually a part where they are making a commercial and it all about fashion and you get to see what the wealthy and hollywood stars woudl wear those days. For a girl its basically enchanting. The sets mainly include the street where Gene Kelly performs the famous signin' in the rain dance, the studio, and Don's house.
In the movie majority fo all light was high key or spotlight. At the beginning there is a low key lighting for the movie permire. Camera angles are crane shots for the permier so the audience can see what i big deal it is then medium lenght and close-ups on shocking parts. For every time they break out in a dance its full lenght shot. The editing was mostly cuts with some dissolving shots. The sound in the movie was great. Along with amazing signing the orchestra and band in the backround really helped.
The story and screenplay was by Adolph Green and Betty Conden. Lyrics by Arthur Feed. Music by Nacio Herb Brown. And produced by Arthur Freed.

Photography

In the film Philadelphia there were, medium, close ups, high angle, and slow zooms. The medium close ups were used just during regular conversation between the characters. Close ups were when Mr. Beckat starts to touch things on the lawyers desk and when he is in the council room and he asks if he's fired and when the men tell him yes and at that point with the close ups they director kinda lets it sink into you. There's also when he starts to question their decision and you understand the real reason that they are firing him, and at the end when he leaves the office and there is that long shot of just his face, at that point you feel all his pain. The high angles is when he tells the man he has AIDS and he starts to back up and he is kinda left alone. Also when he's walking to the council room, you sense that something will soon go wrong. Then a slow zoom in and out when the lawyer questions him why that are firing him. Thats all!

Crituque The Critic

Camp is the story of a boy Vlad that goes to Camp Ovation. Vlad is the typical jock of his high school. He goes to Camp Ovation in search of bringing out his true passion, singing and song writing. The Camp is nothing what he thought it would be, its filled with gay/Broadway obsessed teens. He soon finds that each kid has their own separate problems and this camp has more drama than the musicals that they preform.

The film's characters are the misfits -- the ones who lip-synch show tunes in
their bedroom mirrors and find solace in that hopeful irony peculiar to Broadway
musicals -- and their stunned joy at being among others like them is palpable.

I agree with the critic in this statement. All the kids in the movie are the die-hard Broadway fans. The ones who dedicate their life to it. The movie makes it so you can relate to every character in a certain way. Most of the kids though aren't accepted outside Camp Ovation, either by their parents or society.

''a bunch of little freaks -- the more normal we try to make 'em, the more
lonely and isolated they're gonna feel.''

This is said during the movie by their crazy, alcoholic, washed-up director, who soon sees that no matter what they aren't going to be able to change these kids. And the way they are now is normal.

Graff has a lot to learn as a director -- at best, ''Camp'' looks as though it
were shot on an indie sneaker-lace -- and the cast of first-timers can be
amateurish. But the characters come alive when they sing, and so does the
movie."

I do think that the film could have been at some parts a little better. They could have gone a little more in depth in the characters. But overall it was the singing that made me fall in love with the movie. You see these kids and you think they will have a good voice, but what comes out of their mouth is what you least expect.

"It's the rare movie that can make you weep with sorrow and happiness before the
opening credits are even finished."

This is true. The movie has a very harsh reality of the teenage life. In ways it's very good, it makes you think twice about how you treat people and what you view is wrong and what is right. In other ways it's really hard to see what these kids go through and how their parents cant even accept them.

The community in ''Camp'' extends behind the camera, and it invites
everyone
in front -- and in the audience -- onto the stage.

The movie truley does make you feel apart of their life and their problems. It's much more that just a bunch or freaks who are obsessed with musicals(though you do get to see alot of that). You get too see their lives and how this camp is a place where they are able to express themselve
without any judgement from the world around them, and for them to just be themselves. "You cant fit in when you stand out".

Breakfast Club

My all time favorite movie would have to be The Breakfast Club. I really just like how they all have problems. The cast is really good too, everyone fits their part really well. The thing i probally like most about the movie is how they get high in the library and yet no one seems to notice. How does that happen? i just dont know.
